JOINT-BASE SAN ANTONIO-Randolph, Texas – Reserve Citizen Airman Lt. Col. Thomas Lessner, 39th Flying Training Squadron director of operations, accepted the Schertz Cibolo Selma Area Chamber of Commerce May 2019 Hidden Hero Award during a May 21 ceremony held at the Schertz Civic Center, Schertz, Texas.
The Hidden Heroes program, managed by the Chamber’s military affairs committee, exists to honor military members for their contributions to defense, as well as the local base and civilian communities, said committee chair Ivory Freeman.
Lessner, whose personal and professional experiences and resilience caught national media attention in the past, thanked Chamber leaders and community members for the honor, telling them that without their support in so many facets of life, military members would be far less able to focus on and accomplish their mission.
