I have been a Reservist my entire career, AGR for the last 10 ½ years.

10 1/2 years

Nothing now, I’m AGR. Before I became AGR I was co-controller for a beauty product distributor in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

HOW DOES YOUR JOB SUPPORT THE 340TH FTG MISSION?

With no money, there is no mission.

WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT YOUR WORK AT THE 340TH?

FAMILY? SPOUSE/KIDS?

Married to Todd Rector, Sr., we have one son Todd Alan (he’s a junior, I just refuse to call him that).

ANY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES?

Most of my time is devoted to Boy Scouts activities. I am the chaplain for BSA Troop 51 in Schertz as well as the advisor for Venturing Crew 51. I also train new scoutmasters and assistant scoutmasters in outdoor leadership skills.

When not volunteering with Boy Scouts, I spend much of my time volunteering with our church, Schertz United Methodist Church, as finance secretary, usher, and communion server.

WHAT IS THE ONE PIECE OF INFORMATION OR ADVICE ABOUT WORKING AT THE 340TH FTG THAT YOU'D PASS ON TO NEW MEMBERS OF THE 340TH FTG TEAM?

The 340th FTG has a unique mission. It is the uniqueness of this mission that makes working for the 340th fun and interesting. Every day is a new challenge and a new opportunity.

NAME ONE THING YOU’D LIKE FOLKS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?

When I grow up, I want to be a Ranger at Philmont. I know physically that is not possible, but I still dream of living and working in the Sangre De Christo Mountains of Northern New Mexico. Philmont Scout Ranch is my happy place.
