WHERE ARE YOU FROM?  I was born in Tijuana, Mexico and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. I have since become a naturalized citizen.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE AIR FORCE? 12 years and10 months

HOW LONG IN THE RESERVES?  Since July 27, 2007

WHAT IS YOUR STATUS? (AGR, TR, ART)? I am a traditional reservist

WHY DID YOU JOIN? I wanted to serve the country that has given me so many opportunities and I wanted to show my children that a person can help others in many different ways

HOW LONG WITH THE 340TH FTG? I was gained to the 340th FTG in March 2019

WHAT IS YOUR DUTY TITLE? I am the Command Support Section administrative support noncommissioned officer in charge

WHAT DO YOU DO ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE? I work administrative support for the Navy in Corpus Christi, Texas.

HOW DOES YOUR JOB SUPPORT THE 340TH FTG MISSION? I believe my job gives members piece of mind. The CSS administrative and personnel sections assist members with many functions such as the Defense Travel System, unit training assembly requirements and orders processing. Our main mission is to ensure members get paid in a timely manner by making sure they have everything they need to perform their job without any setbacks or worries concerning pay.

WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT YOUR WORK AT THE 340TH? When I make someone smile or laugh. To me a smile goes a long way. It might just make someone’s day.

FAMILY? SPOUSE/KIDS? I have 10 siblings -- 4 sisters and 6 brothers. No spouse – never been married. I have two children, my daughter Ivyceleste is 24 and my son Michael Anthony is 22.

ANY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES? I donate my hair for wigs for cancer survivors and I donate clothing for the homeless. I donate blood as often as I am allowed within health guidelines. I volunteer at the San Antonio Food Bank and the San Antonio Battered Women and Children’s Shelter and I help put out flags on Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

WHAT IS THE ONE PIECE OF INFORMATION OR ADVICE ABOUT WORKING AT THE 340TH FTG THAT YOU'D PASS ON TO NEW MEMBERS OF THE 340TH FTG TEAM? You may not know everyone by name or able to match every name to a face right away, but what you will know right away is that once you become part of the 340th FTG you are a part of a great family.

NAME ONE THING YOU’D LIKE FOLKS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU? I don’t hold grudges, every day is a new day to start over and endeavor to make it better than yesterday.
