JOINT-BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – Master Sgt. Michele Boyd, 340th Flying Training Group financial services section chief, has been named the first group, On the Spot Award winner for 2020.
The monthly award promotes productivity and provides immediate and visible recognition for exceptional civilian and enlisted contributions, as they occur, said Col. Allen Duckworth, group commander.
Nominated by the senior noncommissioned officer council, Boyd was lauded as an integral player in tracking and fixing pay issues for members converting to a different status.
"She hit the ground running when she came on board and quickly resolved errors and established much needed lines of communication with the host base finance team," said Senior Master Sgt. Amy Whitman-Rector, 340th FTG financial management superintendent.
Boyd took it upon herself to communicate with active duty pay officials to better understand and de-conflict code errors after previous attempts to communicate with external finance officials were unsuccessful, Whitman-Rector explained.
As a reward for their exceptional performance, award winners get to park in the group commander's parking spot for a week.
