JOINT-BASE SAN ANTONIO-Randolph, Texas –

WHERE ARE YOU FROM? Everywhere! I’m a proud Air Force BRAT. I grew up on eight Air Force bases (Offutt AFB, Westover AFB, Ulm Army Airfield, Germany, Loring AFB, Whiteman AFB, KI Sawyer AFB, March AFB, and Robins AFB) before enlisting in the Air Force. I have always considered Warner Robins, Georgia my home since I spent all of my teenage years there.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE AIR FORCE? I have been in the Air Force for 27 years

HOW LONG IN THE RESERVES? WHAT IS YOUR STATUS? (AGR, TR, ART)? I have been in the Air Force Reserves since 1997 and an Air Reserve Technician since 2003.

WHY DID YOU JOIN? To continue a proud family tradition of serving our great country and to get paid to travel the world.

HOW LONG WITH THE 340TH FTG? June 2018

WHAT IS YOUR DUTY TITLE? Superintendent, IG Inspections

WHAT DO YOU DO ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE? Same

HOW DOES YOUR JOB SUPPORT THE 340TH FTG MISSION? IG Inspections act as the eyes and ears for the commanders, informing them of potential areas of concern by conducting comprehensive inspections. The IGI office along with the self-assessment program managers and wing inspection team support the 340th FTG mission by helping commanders prevent and detect noncompliance.

WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT YOUR WORK AT THE 340TH? I enjoy being able to manage all the different facets of the Air Force Inspection program. Every day is different and comes with new challenges because you are constantly interacting with people from all different levels and functional areas.

FAMILY? SPOUSE/KIDS? Married for 27 years to my wife, Kelli and we have two daughters, Gretchen, 19 and Luciana, 9 and two dogs (Shadow and Jersey).

ANY COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES? I volunteer with the Wreaths Across America, JBSA Citizens Police Academy and San Antonio Food Bank. I volunteered at this year’s Valero Texas Open Golf Tournament as a first responders / heroes hospitality pavilion volunteer.

WHAT IS THE ONE PIECE OF INFORMATION OR ADVICE ABOUT WORKING AT THE 340TH FTG THAT YOU'D PASS ON TO NEW MEMBERS OF THE 340TH FTG TEAM?  Always be looking for ways to show your support for the 340 FTG. The two easiest ways to do this is by joining the Booster Club or wing inspection team.

NAME ONE THING YOU’D LIKE FOLKS TO KNOW ABOUT YOU? I’m also the 340th FTG Facility Manager for building 863. If you need anything or something’s not working around the office or you see a safety hazard just let me know and I will submit the work order to get it fixed.
