JOINT-BASE SAN ANTONIO-Randolph, Texas – The 340th Flying Training Group is the Air Force Reserve Command nominee for the 2019 Reserve Forces Policy Board Citizen Patriot Unit Award, AFRC Deputy Commander Maj. Gen. John Flournoy announced June 24.

The 340th FTG supports Air Education and Training Command pilot training, United States Air Force Academy Airmanship, and AETC basic military training programs with squadrons located at seven different installations across the country.

Established in 2002, the Citizen Patriot Unit Award recognizes units that have made a substantial contribution to the security or defense posture of the United States, and have demonstrated a quantifiable, recognizable pattern of excellence. Past recipients have included the Woman Air Service Pilots of World War II, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 84 (U.S. Navy), the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team (U.S. Army) and more.

“The men and women of the 340th Flying Training Group have made significant contributions to the success of their unit and the Air Force Reserve Command’s mission, and are invaluable members of their community. They are truly deserving of this prestigious award,” said Flournoy.

Thanking his people for their hard work and dedication, 340th FTG Commander Col. Allen Duckworth told his team “You earned this!”

The 2019 Citizen Patriot Unit Award will be announced in August and will be presented in September at the Reserve Forces Policy Board annual meeting in Arlington, Virginia.
