JOINT-BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – Tech. Sgt. Michaela Parsons, 340th Flying Training Group health services section chief, has been named the April 2020 On the Spot Award winner.
Candidates are nominated by the senior noncommissioned officer council for the monthly award, which is presented by Col. Michael Vanzo, group commander. The award promotes productivity and provides immediate, visible recognition for exceptional civilian and enlisted contributions, as they occur.
Parsons was nominated for exceptional performance in support of group and higher headquarters taskings.
"She did an amazing job compiling the data for the total waiver delays spreadsheet, which was requested by the Air Force Reserve Command surgeon general," Vanzo said.
Parsons was a unanimous recommendation by the members of the senior NCO council.
"Sergeant Parsons has always provided excellent customer service with a smile. As our medical liaison she does a great job following up with medical organizations to get answers to our medical readiness questions, which enables everyone to focus more on their missions, rather than committing time to finding much-needed information," one council member said.
In appreciation for their exceptional performance, every on the spot winner is provided the commander's parking space for the week of their choice.
