The Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey is a government-wide, Office of Personnel Management (OPM) administered survey.  The 2020 FEVS invitation is scheduled to be sent out within the Air Force during the month of May.  About 70,000 permanent non-seasonal, full- and part-time, appropriated fund civilians will receive the FEVS from OPM with a link to the survey.

Air Force employees have participated in the FEVS since 2006, which focuses on employee perceptions of how effectively the Air Force manages the workforce.  The survey includes questions about employees’ work-life, job and organizational satisfaction, commitment, engagement, performance management, communication, and how all of these contribute to the accomplishment of the Air Force mission.  There are nearly 100 questions and the survey will take about 20-30 minutes to complete.  “We strongly encourage everyone who receives the 2020 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey to take the time to complete and submit their responses,” Colonel Angenene Robertson, AMC Director of Manpower, Personnel, and Services told us.  “Each individual’s response provides important information for improving the workplace environment and productivity within the Air Force.”  Mr. Gregg Clark, AMC Executive Director of Manpower, Personnel, and Services, echoed Colonel Robertson’s support for the FEVS and added, “Many benefits that our Air Force civilian employees enjoy today are a direct result of comments and recommendations made by our own workforce.  I can’t overemphasize the importance of each civilian Airman participating in the FEVS.”

The ultimate goal of the survey is to provide the Air Force’s leadership with tangible information to build off strengths and improve challenge areas.  Look for the survey in official email during the 1st week of May.  The survey period will run for 6 weeks, closing in mid-June.  Responses will be treated confidentially and the results reported back to the Air Force will not allow the identification of individual responses in any way.  Let your influencing voice for change be heard through the FEVS.
