JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-Randolph, Texas – Staff Sgt. Isabel Chea Gause, 340th Flying Training Group Undergraduate Flying Training program, has been named the February 2021 On the Spot Award winner.

Candidates are nominated by the senior noncommissioned officer council for the monthly award, which is presented by Col. Michael Vanzo, group commander. The award promotes productivity and provides immediate, visible recognition for exceptional contributions to the group and mission, as they occur.

Chea Gause recently joined the UFT team and jumped in headfirst, according to UFT Program Director Lt. Col. Michael McMillan.

In the critical role of frontline supervisor responsible for answering more than 1,200 emails per month and disseminating critical information to UFT leaders, her diligence resulted in timely submissions of more than 200 pay-affecting documents, and contributed to the successful accession of 18 new students into the UFT pipeline.

"Her expertise and work ethic aided a smooth transition within the UFT team as we continue to expand operations and train newly-assigned personnel," said McMillan. "Her ability to manage a large workload has allowed the team to transition key roles, map out processes, and maintain exceptional student customer service."

In appreciation for exceptional performance, every On the Spot Award winner is provided the commander's parking space for the week of their choice.
