LAUGHLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Lt. Col. Christine van Weezendonk assumed command of the 96th Flying Training Squadron from Col. James Browning at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, on May 5 during a ceremony officiated by Col. Kyle Goldstein, 340th Flying Training Group commander.
Formerly the assistant operations officer of the Undergraduate Flight Training detachment, van Weezendonk is now responsible for a squadron that oversees T-1 Jayhawk, T-6 Texan II, and T-38 Talon aircraft flight training at Laughlin AFB.
The 96th FTS is one of six flying training squadrons under the 340th FTG and is a reserve associate squadron to the 47th Flying Training Wing.
