97th FTS members change cancer patient’s life

Maj. Elliott Nelsen (left) and Lt. Col. Jeremy Downs, 97th Flying Training Squadron, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, pose with Connor, a young cancer patient who had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be an aircraft commander for a day thanks to Downs and Nelsen. When they learned about Connor’s illness and his desire to be a pilot, the 97th FTS instructor pilots worked with teammates across the 80th Flying Training Wing to make sure Connor had a day he would never forget.
