BMT Arrives to Keesler AFB
Basic military training Airmen carry their bags to their room during inprocessing inside Erwin Manor, at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, April 7, 2020. Keesler will be the newest training site for 60 incoming basic military training Airmen. With proactive planning and protective measures already in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Keesler is hosting the 37th Training Wing Detachment 5 in order to better protect the health and safety of the trainees and military training instructors while also providing relief to Lackland Air Force Base's training infrastructure. Keesler has not seen the standup of a basic training concept since WWII marking this training detachment as a historic moment for the Air Force's training program.
