19th AF commander visits 340th FTG

Maj. Gen. Phillip Stewart (center), 19th Air Force commander, receives a mission briefing from Col. Kyle Goldstein (left), 340th Flying Training Group commander, during a visit to the “Avengers” group at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph on Sept. 8, 2022. Both Stewart and Chief Master Sgt. Justin Apticar, 19th AF command chief master sergeant, were briefed on the group’s support to Air Education and Training Command's Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training, Joint Primary Pilot Training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training, Basic Military Training and the United States Air Force Academy's Airmanship Programs. Stewart assumed command of the 19th AF on Aug. 19, 2022, at JBSA-Randolph who now oversees top level instruction and flying operations manning, contracts, logistics and maintenance trends.
