B-52 Link-16 during Cobra Warrior 25-AFN News
Regional Media Center AFN Europe
Sept. 18, 2025 | 1:00
U.S. Airmen assigned to the 307th Bomb Wing and the 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron commemorated the first time a B-52 flew equipped with a link-16, a tactical data link in the European theater at RAF Fairford, England on September 19, 2025. The flight took off as part of exercise Cobra Warrior 25, a multinational exercise designed to enhance lethality and strengthen relationships between allied air forces. The B-52 modernization campaign will replace many aging systems and introduce new capabilities, enabling a more reliable and modern platform to keep the B-52 a credible nuclear deterrent through 2050 and beyond.
