Tennesee National Guard Assists in February 2015 Winter Storm

Beginning February 16, 2015, the State of Tennessee was impacted by a major winter storm crippling infrastructure critical to citizens of the state.
Transportation, power and numerous services were disrupted prompting Gov. Bill Haslam to declare a Level II - State of Emergency assuring assistance was rendered to citizens in the impacted regions.
In the midst of the storm numerous Tennessee National Guard units were aiding emergency responders by conducting house to house and vehicle welfare checks, providing shelter in Guard facilities, while also assisting in debris removal to clear vital transportation routes.
Over 400 personnel from four Tennessee Army National Guard Major Commands - including the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, 30th Troop Command, 230th Sustainment Brigade and 194th Engineer Brigade, along with Air National Guard personnel from the 118th Wing and 164th Airlift Wing were involved in the statewide mission.
