KARLOVAK, Croatia (Jun. 24, 2021) AFN Regional News of U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Mobile Unit 8 out of Rota, Spain, as well as U.S. Navy Sailors from EOD Mobile Unit 6 stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia, currently deployed in support of Carrier Strike Group 2 conducted a Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) certification training event with the Croatian Mine Clearance Diving Platoon in Split and Karlovak, Croatia from June 7 to June 25. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
