This edition features a story about how Marines with Battery E., 2nd Battalion, 12th Marines, patrol through a section of tree line laced with improvised explosive devices. Insurgents also used the tree line as concealment for fighting positions before Marines began systematically clearing sections with explosives. Battery E. performs a provisional infantry role while guarding the critical infrastructure of the Kajaki Dam. Photos by 1st Lt. Timothy Irish and Airman 1st Class Marshall Hunsaker.
