AFN Pacific
May 17, 2014 | 1:48
Crossfit enthusiasts at Osan Air Base, Korea, conduct a hero workout, affectionately called The Murph, to honor fallen Navy Seal Lieutenant Michael Murphy. During a firefight in Afghanistan 2005, Lieutenant Murphy moved away from protective cover to transmit a rescue call, risking his own life for the safety of his three seal teammates.
Suggested lead:
There are many ways we can honor fallen heroes. Specialist Aaron Loy takes us to Osan Air Base with a workout to remember.
Suggested tag:
Three of the original four-man seal team died by the end of the two-hour firefight, along with an estimated 35 Taliban.
