German and American military teamed up for Iron Castle at U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart, Germany, from Sept. 20 to 24, 2021. Iron Castle is an annual bilateral exercise that the 52nd Signal Battalion conducts with the Information Technology Battalion 293. U.S. Army Sgt. Nicholas Sclafani, 52nd SSB NCO in charge of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear, and Bundeswehr Cadet Katharina Juergens, ITBtl 293 officer in charge of operations, shared their experiences during the exercise.
