340th FTG highlights top performers, strategic priorities during fall MUTA

Master Sgt. Davon Anderson, 340th Flying Training Group first sergeant, provides the annual family care briefing to personnel during the fall mandatory unit training assembly (MUTA) at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, Oct. 26, 2023. Anderson is the group's newest first sergeant who is the eyes and ears of an organization and serves as the commander's critical link for all matters concerning enlisted members. First Sergeants are responsible for providing sound advice to the commander on a wide range of topics including the health, esprit de corps, discipline, mentoring, wellbeing, career progression, recognition and professional development of all assigned enlisted members.

97th FTS welcomes new commander, celebrates 25th anniversary

Personnel from the 97th Flying Training Squadron pose for a group photo after attending a change of command ceremony where Lt. Col. Frank W. Waters relinquished command of the 97th FTS to Lt. Col. Bradley Brumbaugh on Oct. 20, 2023 at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. The 97th FTS is part of the 340th Flying Training Group and is the Reserve associate to the 80th Flying Training Wing based at Sheppard AFB. It operates T-6A Texan II and T-38 Talon aircraft conducting flight training. The squadron trains and provides experienced pilots to augment Air Education and Training Command’s Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training.
